When is Nasal CPAP Therapy contradicted?
WHEN IS NASAL CPAP THERAPY CONTRAINDICATED?
Studies have shown that the following pre-existing conditions may contraindicate the use of CPAP therapy for some patients. Should you have any of the following conditions, you physician will determine if CPAP therapy is appropriate for you.
- Bullous lung disease
- Pneumothorax
- Pathologically Low Blood Pressure
- Bypassed Upper Airway
- Pneumocephalus
- Stroke and Seizures
CPAP therapy may be temporarily suspended if you exhibit any of the following conditions:
- Sinus or middle ear infections
- Severe ear discomfort
- Conjunctivitis(pink eye)
- Skin abrasions associated with CPAP
